Bea and Cris... and let us not forget Wendy

Sunday, April 29, 2007

Basta pareho silang mali.

And about Wendy... wala lang pala siya hindi pala talaga siya kasali sa post ko. LOL

Battle of the Optical Media

Thursday, April 26, 2007

From the old vinyl records, to cassette tapes, to CDs and DVDs and the promising Blu-ray Disc comes a new technology in optical media that will surely blow the geeks away -- the Holographic Versatile Disc.

Blu-Ray disc is derived from the blue-violet color of the laser that is used to read and write this type of disc.

Currently, Blue-Ray holds the record for the highest data that it can hold -- up to 25GB (more than half of my current harddrive).

Because of its shorter wavelength (405 nm), substantially more data can be stored on a Blu-ray Disc than on the DVD format, which uses a red, 650 nm laser.

Most of the Blu-Ray discs are used in High Definition movies. A 50GB Blu-Ray can hold up to 9 hours of HD movies or 23 hours of standard definition movies.

But how long will Blu-Ray hold up to the market?

With the coming of other competiting technologies like HD DVD, EVD, FVD and of course the Holographic Versatile Disc which is the proposed next generation disc after HD DVD and Blu-ray.

Or will the recent unlawful events be a calling for the HVD?

The Simpsons - Now & Then

Monday, April 23, 2007

2007 marks the 20th anniversary of The Simpsons franchise. With 394 episodes, 18 seasons, and 1 movie (with 1 more movie to come), this is the longest running handrawn cartoon in the world!

Then

The image above are The Simpsons as they first appeared at Tracy Ullman show. Look at how Bart smirks, and Homer-- he looks like he could kill any one with just one wrong move. Their hairstyles are kind of sick too! Uneven spikes and very pointed lips. Their facial expressions -- scary!

Now

Ahhh! Better! Although Homer lost a few more strands of hair, at least he is smiling. Bart also looks more child friendly. As for Marge's hair, it became taller but she sure can carry that style!

This just makes me really excited for the movie (I'm still excited for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. )

I found this video at YouTube. They are the real life Simpsons family. Ubercool!

Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape

Knowing our favorite artists means loving their music more.

Here are some FAQs fans like me asks Gwen -- of course with her answers.

What is your favorite song on the new album and Why?

"4 In The Morning" is one of my favorite songs on the new album. I don't know why but it brings pleasure to my ears.

What was the inspiration for the sweet escape artwork cover?

My initial inspiration for the artwork was seeing Jill Greenberg’s End Times exhibit. I fell in love with the beautifully lit, emotional images. The photos looked hyper real and perfectly perfect even though the emotions were slightly disturbing. The shots with sunglasses on the cover represent our guarded exterior while the interior shots show the real emotions we all have inside.

Does Kingston like No Doubt and Gwen music??????

No Duh

Are the Harajuku girls going to be a part of the next tour or are they retired?

The Harajuku Girls are absolutely a part of this new tour. You might have seen them in the new video, “Wind It Up,” but you didn’t recognize them with their new blond hair. Their dancing is wicked. Check’em out winding it up.

Currently, Gwen Stefani is on tour with her girls (Harajuku girls). Tomorrow they'll be at Fresno, CA. and on 25th at Bakersfield, CA. both event are guested by Akon.

For more info regarding her tour dates: Visit her tour page.

Smosh - Handshake

This video disappoints me. I'd say Smosh is already running out of ideas or maybe they are just into the phase wherein their creative juices are all cranked-up.

Anyway, here's the latest from the Smosh duo Ian and Anthony.

P.S.: Antony's hair is way better before than his current hair style.

Asian Summer Heat + Nose Bleed

Last Tuesday, April 17, the hottest Philippine temperature was recorded at 37°C. We asians usually hate the summer heat since there are alot of sun throughout the year even during December - January which is supposed to have a cool weather due to the melting snow coming from the northern part of the world.

With this kind of summer weather, it is not uncommon to see someone having a nose bleed. Just like this one:

Hahaha! I'm Just kidding!

Ok. OK. Like I was saying during this season that nose bleeding due to the heat is common. It can be scary -- but try to stay calm. Most nosebleeds look much worse than they really are. Almost all nosebleeds can be treated at home.

What to Do

If you get a nosebleed, sit down and lean slightly forward. Keeping your head above your heart will make your nose bleed less. Lean forward so the blood will drain out of your nose instead of down the back of your throat. If you lean back, you may swallow the blood. This can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

Use your thumb and index finger to squeeze together the soft portion of your nose. This area is located between the end of your nose and the hard, bony ridge that forms the bridge of your nose. Keep holding your nose until the bleeding stops. Don't let go for at least 5 minutes. If it's still bleeding, hold it again for 10 minutes straight.

You can also place a cold compress or an ice pack across the bridge of your nose.

Once the bleeding stops, don't do anything that may make it start again, such as bending over or blowing your nose.

Are Nosebleed Serious?

Family Doctor said

"Most aren't. Most nosebleeds occur in the front part of the nose and stop in a few minutes.

A few nosebleeds stem from large vessels in the back of the nose. These nosebleeds can be dangerous. They may occur after an injury. This type of nosebleed is more common in the elderly and is often due to high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, daily aspirin use or bleeding disorders. Usually, the older the patient, the more serious the nosebleed."

Now, unless you are Manny Pacquiao who boxes and speak english at the same time. Then that's another thing.

Walk Away + Sa Wari Ko

Sunday, April 22, 2007

Chico IM'd me about a week ago to guest blog at his Wordpress journal. Of course I said yes even though at that time, I didn't know the concept of guest blogging. Good thing he explained it to me.

My post was entitled Flashback | 01. It is like a review/analysis/criticism of the 2 guest blogs that was before me --Kevin and Rens.

It took me 4 days to figure out what topic should I tackle. And even at the moment of my posting, I was still hesitant about it.

I read the first two guest blogs postings and thought that their topic interests me. Drugs and God complex.

Anyways, please read my contribution and comment on what you think about it. Its not a fancy writing unlike the other blog entries. So yeah pardon me.

All Stars -- My Dance Idols!

Saturday, April 21, 2007

I saw the commercial of ABS-CBN's dance contest "You Can Dance," a local version of Amarica's "So You Think You Can Dance."

And it made me think that since I am idle here, why not joing the contest?! LOL I'm just kidding. There is no way I'm joinining any reality TV show. ANY!

Seriously, the moment I saw the ad, I wanted to dance na.

Kaya, here... All Stars (duting their last practice) -- the 2006 Champion at the World Hip-Hop Competition.

2000 Bloggers

Monday, April 16, 2007

I totally forgot about me joining 2k Bloggers, and just a few minutes ago, while doing cache search of my blog at google. It returned results of my link together with other numerous links, that as far as I can remember doesn't sound even familiar at all.

It took me sometime to realize that I was looking at the 2000 faces of bloggers.

Can you find me in the photo montage?

The feeling of me, finding my picture at the sea of pictures is like finishing my favorite PlayStation 3 game after millions and millions of years. Euphoric. LOL.

Bumming and TV

Sunday, April 15, 2007

Singing: "I dont need a man" I need a job.

I just sent my resume to QJ and I hope that they call my back to schedule an exam, do the interview and finally give me the job. Ok. ok. I'm assuming too much.

One of their requirement says that applicants should have a strong interest in RPG games, due to the fact that QJ is a Play Station gamer help desk and support web site kind of thing.

I really really really want that job because it is seldom that we get to have a job that supports our hobby. Being a gamer myself for over 9 years, I have used my weekly allowances and sometimes I even make utang just to satisfy my addiction. Now, its time for a pay back.

It's been a month now na wala akong ginagawa dito except for playing online games (FrozenGladeRO) and watching DVDs via my new acquired DVD player. LOL.

Actually there are a lot of job opening. jobstreet.com sends me like everyday a list of call center position.

That 13 letter word

I couldn't wait for at least another month waiting for the 3rd season of LOST to be aired on the local airwaves. Although I've already seen the first few episodes, thanks to PeekVid.com I'd still would want to watch it for the second time.

Having nothing to do, gives me the opportunity to have a lot to do. Confusing? Yeah. Since I am no longer a slave for my organization responsibilities I can now doze off with a whole day of entertainment. Music, movies, series, games.... All with different form but with the same goal-- to be entertained. [Why does it feels like I'm beating around the bush???]

One of the local show that I watch (at least without having nausea) is PBB. And according to this media clip, there will be a swap of housemate between the Philippines and Slovenia. One housemate from will live at the Slovenian BBhouse for a week. In return, a housemate from Slovenia will live at PBB. The swap will happen at April 19.

Another reality TV show here is Star Struck. Which for my opinion, isn't that popular unlike its first season. Although the show is not that successful, Mart seems to rise above others.

Thanks to: mi4 for the teaser pic.

From Home Alone to Junior

Friday, April 13, 2007

Gusto kong maging author. Hehe.

Yung tipong anything goes. May mga erasures effect pa within the context of the book.

Sabi nya na he had never been molested by Jackson and he thinks na outrageous yung mga charges againts him.

Ilang bag of marijuana and Xanax kaya ang pinangako ni Michael Jackson kay Mr. Culkin?

Anyways... back tayo sa libro.

May kamahalan yung libro.

This book consists of disjointed paragraphs, childish drawings, serious father issues, and a wide variety of page layouts. But the fact that it was written by a former child star and current indie actor whose battles with his father are well documented lends an overarching semiautobiographical theme that ties these pieces together into snapshots of Culkin's celebrity life. Calling this title fiction may be a bit of a stretch. There's no plot, although there are several recurring stories about Monkey Monkey Boy, former child star. The book is more a journal written by a fictional character named Junior, and it reads exactly like one. Now 25, the author may or may not have written this as part of a therapeutic process. (He drops hints that he has.) His emotions are certainly laid bare. Culkin touches on such issues as how you become who you are, how every little thing that happens to you matters, and how you make the transition to adulthood. Teens who are journaling can find a lot of inspiration in his insights. Those who have enjoyed his movies will find this peek into his soul fascinating.

I mean, from this to this??? Well, ika nga... walang paki-alamanan. Kaya pede ba Rob! Wag kang makialam!

Mama wants meh haircut. Smosh too!

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

My Mama's been bugging me to have a haircut. Actually she's always been like that. Telling me things that I have to do, trying to decide for myself. I told her that I won't be having my haircut for at least this summer.

Speaking of haircuts... Smosh realeased their new clip, wherein "Anthony and Ian embark on a journey that will change their lives forever." Hahaha! These two guys are serious with what they doing, and for that I adore them. Most of the comments says they are cute too. Emo hair, sense of humor and it appears that they don't do anything for their lives. Haha! Well, I assume that they earn a little from their Smosh videos. Who knows.

PS: I wasn't expecting that it would be that short. Looks good though.

I Could Not Ask for More

Thursday, April 05, 2007

"These are the moments I know heaven must exist / These are the moments I know all I need is this / I have all I've waited for / and I could not ask for more..."

OMG! @ 3:25!(reverse time) hahaha! That is soooo stoopid! Anytways, the pics are from last years events and projects, overnight documentations, retreat, FOrCES exhibits, plant visits, bac. mass, graduation night, bdays, parties and other cam whoring moments.

It feels like just yesterday we we're playing basketball at DF's place, giving funny meanings to acronyms, munching on meatloaves and fried eggs, cramming on assignments (and lab reports), and having fun while we try to learn... and now... now... its over! No more assignments, no more seatworks. Coz this time... its going to be real. Of course, we know for a fact that the real thing is harder than what the university had thought us. But then again, we also know for a fact that whatever... whenever... we will be friends. and I must say... that I could not ask for more.

Credits goes Leslie for the great video editing and the nice song, Gretz for organizing the semi level-up/thanksgiving party and April for the scrapbook.
