Books sometimes frustrates me.

Wednesday, January 04, 2006

Reading books is one of my favorite past time, actually I consider it as a hobby. Books of all sorts are informative whether it talks about other people's lives or just a fictional writing, you will surely learn from it. Afew days ago, Leslie sent me a text message borrowing a book. "Bakit baliktad magbasa ang mga Pilipino." No problem. I remembered how fast I read that book, about 5 hours give or take a couple of minutes. Then, I thought why not browse through the pages of that book again. I read the first part with headings "Don't read this" but i continued anyway, my frustrations started to rise when every word from the book hits me bullseye! The wording used are that of a regular Filipino - plain and simple. It was all real... I was amazed for the nth time that I read the book. Another frustration that came to me was last Monday when we went to National Bookstore to checkout the latest books available and its prices. I went to the fictional section. I had heard alot of good things about the author of The Alchemist, but I haven't read any of his books. I was thinking of "Veronika decides to die", but then I thought Leslie has that book and I can just borrow it from her. I browsed the shelves and found several popular titles and my favorites -- alot of them. One thing for sure, I can't buy those. And my frustrations just hit the red bar. Expensive!
