Mo Money, Mo Problem

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

This photo can be bought at DeviantShop.
As the title says: "Mo (more) Money, Mo Problem" and in my case, No money, Mo problem. It seems like that in everyday of my life, I spend more than what should be spent. No, I don't buy unnecessary things. No, I don't spend my money with too much foods. And yet, my allowance are becoming minimal and minimal each day. There are alot of things that I need to do which sadly involves money. My family's recent financial instability also contributed with this burden. School requirements are my major concerns. Next week, we'll be going on a plant visit and just yesterday I shred-off 600.00 bucks for the ticket. Printing problems adds an extra weight or two regarding my financial issue. My printer's inks need to be changed and it requires about a thousand plus-plus to do this. Instead, I print my documents at a computer shop that charges 5.00 per page. Come mid-February, Parokya and Kiko will be performing at my school and I just can't miss that event! That concert doesn't come for free just to clarify things, it cost 250.00 pesos. I don't know if its worth it or not. But I sure know one thing -- my wallet's complaining.

(Erich Fromm) "At the beginning and at the end of love, the two lovers are embarrassed to find themselves alone." (La Bruyere) "As selfishness and complaint pervert and cloud the mind, so love with its joy clears and sharpens the vision." (Helen Keller) "Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction."(Saint-Exupery) "A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous."(Ingrid Bergman) "In the confusion we stay with each other, happy to be together, speaking without uttering a single word." Thursday, January 26, 2006

Today, is the most different day since 2006 started. To start of, I went to school early this morning. About 9:00 am (my class starts at 10:00), to study for an exam. Madalang mangyari na pumapasok ako ng maaga para magaaral sa isang exam, a quiz to be exact. Then 10:00 am arrived, I went up to my class at the 4th floor. I first checked the elevator but changed my mind since there's only 2 floors left. But the exact opposite happened, when I looked at my right, I saw a small man, walking, parang kilala ko to. Shit. But, heavens seemed to be always at my side. The quiz was cancelled! After that class, I went down to meet my friends at Cafe Urbe, ordered my self my favorite sandwich (Tuna deeeeeelight!) and sat down at one of their umbrella'd tables. We went to our class and found out that there was none. Fine! I went home to eat lunch and get my gadamn CISCO e-labs. How could I ever forgot something that I had worked for like hours?! How stupid is that? Third thing is, the freezee that I bought from Cafe Urbe, right after going back to school... made me feel dizzy. Yeah... the first time ever that a freezee had made me feel dizzy! It also made my tummy ache. Fourth thing is, my third class for the day was cancelled because of a seminar (I heard its about AutoCAD 2006), which is of course doesn't really makes me feel bad or anything... Fifth thing, I have talked about sex with a girl. Not that I had never done this... but this is my first for 2006! LOL! The sixth and most gross thing that ever happened to me since 2006 started or should I say since I started counting is.... hold your breath... the guy who prepared my burger licked his thumb before serving it to me. It was so gross! As in nakakadiri! Imagine licking your thumb tapos hahawakan uli yung burger mo... wala man lang syang gloves or any kind of sanitary stuff. Humanda sila, kasi I'll really going to tell the Sanitary inspector!

Brain Lateralization Test Results
Right Brain (50%) The right hemisphere is the visual, figurative, artistic, and intuitive side of the brain. Left Brain (58%) The left hemisphere is the logical, articulate, assertive, and practical side of the brain
Are You Right or Left Brained? personality tests by similarminds.com
Explanation: Left brain dominant individuals are more orderly, literal, articulate, and to the point. They are good at understanding directions and anything that is explicit and logical. They can have trouble comprehending emotions and abstract concepts, they can feel lost when things are not clear, doubting anything that is not stated and proven.

Right brain dominant individuals are more visual and intuitive. They are better at summarizing multiple points, picking up on what's not said, visualizing things, and making things up. They can lack attention to detail, directness, organization, and the ability to explain their ideas verbally, leaving them unable to communicate effectively.

Overall you appear to be Left Brain Dominant

Locus of Control Test Results
Internal Locus (68%) Individual believes that their life is defined more by their decisions and internal drive. External Locus (32%) Individual believes that their life is defined more by genetics, environment, fate, or other external factors.
Take Free Locus of Control Test personality tests by similarminds.com
Explanation : In the 60s Psychologist Julian Rotter developed a theory called Locus of Control of Reinforcement. His theory centered around whether someone thinks their life is more influenced by external factors like fate, genetics, luck, environment (external locus of control) OR by internal factors like effort, tenacity, and free will (internal locus of control).

Your results suggest you tend to believe that internal factors like drive and free will define you more than external factors like genetics, fate, luck, and environment.

Thus, you have an Internal Locus of Control

The Art of Letting Go

by Consrael It's over. He's gone. Why do we have to part while the love is still there? Why do we have to suffer? Why do we have to cry when somebody bids goodbye? Why do beginnings have an end? Why do we have to meet only to lose in the end? There are questions left unanswered, words left unsaid, letters left unread, poems left undone, songs left unsung, love left unexpressed, promises left unfulfilled. In a relationship, one of the hardest things to do is saying goodbye and letting go. It is as hard as breaking a crystal because you'll never know when you will be able to pick up the pieces again. More often than not, they who go, feel not the pain of parting: it is they who stay behind that suffer, because they are left with memories of a love that was meant to be, a love that was. At the beginning and at the end of a relationship, we are embarrassed to find ourselves alone. Unfair as it may seem, but that's the way love goes. That's the drama, the bittersweet and the risk of falling in love. After all, nothing is constant but change. Everything will eventually come to its end without us knowing when, without us knowing how, without us even knowing why. And we must forget not because we have to but because we have to. In letting go, sorrows come not as a single spy but in batallion. It seems that everywhere you go, everything you do, every song you hear, every turn of your head, every move of your body, every beat of your heart, every blink of your eye and every breath you take always reminds you of him. It's like a stab of a knife, a torture in the night. Funny how the whole world becomes depopulated when only one person is missing. Just imagine, there are billion people on earth and yet it seems you feel lonely and empty without the other. I don't know if it's worth calling an art, but letting go entails special skills sparkled with a considerable space and time. Time heals all wounds but it takes a little push on our part. Acceptance plays a part. Not all love stories end with "...and they live happily ever after." Sometimes we have to part because of circumstances beyond our control. We have to suffer if it would mean happiness for others. We have to cry to temporarily let go of the pains. Every beginning has its end like every dawn has its dusk. It's something we can't control, something we had to live up. It's over. He's gone. But life has to go on. Goodbye doesn't always mean forever. There will always be a place and time where questions will be answered, words will be spoken, letters will be read, poems will be recited in the night, songs will be sung in harmony, love will be expressed in solitude and promises will be fulfilled. Somewhere. Somehow. Someday.

Mystery at Friendster

Three years ago, Friendster(R) was just a coined word for an internet service that is similar to Pic-Link. The idea is to network friends by your friends and by your friends of friends. It boomed. But I did not post this to talk about how Friendster managed all of its subcribers. There is something more. A more mysterious event that happened to me just a moment ago. You know, I am a Friendster loyalist. I know almost its every nook and cranny, at least my account. And just after opening my page, I saw a bulletin post from someone I don't know, or remembered adding to my friends list. One more mystery I encountered was that when I clicked a friend it will display a page saying that, that account does not exist!

OH MY GAWD! My bet lost! Yeah! Reynard Lost! I really though he would win Mr. Engineering for two simple reasons. First is, he is good looking and he is matalino. As in charge for the tallying of scores, I immediately knew that he is loosing. He did not scored high on the the two major parts and Jason, outscored him with 1 point. Making him only the 1st runner-up. Awwww. On the other hand, Jason, who is tied with Reynard on School uniform and Casual Wear won the title of this year's Mr. Engineering and Zyra, who did not get any special award bagged the Ms. Engineering title.

I Am Sick But I Feel So Alive

Tuesday, January 17, 2006

Headache, Tonsilitis, colds and cough. Which ever of the four or combination of it, I am not certain. All I know is that I am not feeling well. But Heavens seems to be on my side for a beautiful irony had come. I am happy. I don't really know the reason and really, I don't even care of it. I feel so alive these past few days. Every morning when I wake up, good thoughts are always the first things that strucks me. I hum a tune or two while I walk to the bus station every morning. I laugh at things at doesn't usually makes me laugh. I now try to smile to every person I know (at least when I saw them). Its like a one day miracle for me -- everything happened so fast that I didn't had time to tell my self that at least I am seeing change(s). Change(s) that took me a year to accomplish... (How I wish this would be the start). Anyways, you might think that I might have this love thing going on, but NO i don't have any mushy-mushy-thingamajigs. I am just Happy.

King Wong

Saturday, January 14, 2006

Right now, I am really tired! And I mean really tired! But still, I haven't gone to bed. That is because my tiredness deserves a small space on this place called the world wide web. Umalis ako ng bahay around 8:45, thinking that my classmates would be early given that the call time is 9:00 am. 9:00 am arrived but still they are no where to be found. I lit a stick cigarette just compensate with my boredom at the bus station. 9:15 -- still haven't arrived, I texted one of 2 of them, one is still on the way and the other had just arrived to their first meeting place. Crystel who happens to be living just a few kilometers away from my house arrived. We've talked about one of our former classmate who dropped out from school to go to work. "She had lost alot of weight!," Crystel said. "Her face had thinned and her hair was all messed up!" Really was the only word I had said. Not that I am not concern with our friend's health, its just that... being vocal that moment is not my thing. Parang mainit ang ulo, pero I just let her do her "thing". While walking the road up to SM, I felt an "natural" feeling... in fact it is so natural, it deserves its name "Nature's Fresh" Kiddin'! "Nature's Call"... I started to walk faster, gaining more speed every 15 seconds. At last the facade of the mall came to my eyes and I had succesfully released my tension inside the mall's comfort's. Several minutes later, Beverly arrived. We first ate lunch then went straight to EISA (Eastern Integrated Systems & Automation) our main destination. EISA is like the prime tourist spot for engineering students. Despite its dramatical appearance, a double room apartment with lots of stacked-up boxes and containers. Its major source of air is an electric fan. It has the best technicians in town and a manager popularly known as Mr. Wong. 1:00 pm, Mr. Wong went out to eat and wasn't there said a guy from his office. We went out and waited some 10 minutes outside until he finally came... but sadly he did not entertained us first. I forgot there was a line and we are at the last queue. 2:00 pm and still the group that came in when Mr. Wong has arrived is still inside... 2:30... 3:00... 3:30... Still not our turn. Joke joke joke!] So after that, back to normal ulit at english mode ulit ang story telling ko. We started slumping at the walls and at the sides, wishing that this would be over... or at least soon. Best solution?! Play the world's paynes intelektuwal ay-kyu geym... Pinoy henyo. We won the game actually, having Crystel and April correctly guessed once, and Haqui guessed correctly once too. Thats 2-1. Several more minutes had past and finally, the group that entered Mr. Wong's office from 1:15 pm till 4:00 is finally done! Pero in the end, we settled up and agreed upon a price of [ask me nalang] . I went to his cashier, paid our downpayment and voila! One problem down, 3 to go!

13th the Friday or the other way around

Friday, January 13, 2006

Today is January 13, 2006 and today my mom and I had an argument with almost the nightly discussion around the house – OJT as it’s commonly referred to or the On-The-Job training. If not because of my two previous professors (both of them had thankfully left the school for another job), who failed me at their classes, then I would not be experiencing this chaos. It may sound a little exaggerated, but that’s how exactly I feel right now… this moment. I need to take summer classes, in which I can’t choose my schedule. I need to have my OJT papers fixed. Actually I have two options: First is to have my OJT at the company my mom is suggesting but that would be too risky. Second is at my school’s MIS office – which is a super awkward place to have my OJT. Will I be able to learn something from them? I might, but is that the working environment I am looking? No. If I’ll have my OJT at the first choice, then it would be great for me. I will surely learn a lot of things there. That is exactly the working environment I am looking for, but I won’t be able to take summer classes. Strength of Materials and Thermodynamics are the two shitty subjects I need to enroll. Although I can take those subjects next term, just like I was telling you, it would be too risky. What if the schedule doesn’t go with mine? I can take SoM during the first term, which is offered at ECE 4td year and leave Thermo for the second term. That would be a good decision. Again, this question is raised: What if the schedule doesn’t go with mine? I have a lot of options, although some were a little absurd and some were a bit “unfair.” All I need to hear is an assurance that they (the Engineering heads) will make a good schedule next year and that all the subjects I need will be scheduled morning and my regular classes (5th year subjects) will be scheduled from noon (or at just after my 2 back subjects had finished ), then I will be confident enough to take my moms suggestion and attend my OJT there. Otherwise, I think I just have to accept OJT at SSCR.

I feel guilty

Wednesday, January 11, 2006

He did it again. And this time he hit it hard and right to her face. With this I feel so guilty. I always wanted the best for my friends who'd been there for me for many years now and as a friend they come to me share to me their problems and at the same time I come to them, share my problems. We also exchange advises. I thought I could see through things just by trusting my intuition, not knowing that I am human... prone to errors and mistakes. I pushed my intuition, insisting that she should go with him... that he seems to be a nice guy. I thought she was the one whos wrong all this time. This afternoon, I was proved wrong. I should have had pulled her out of the mud of the so called love. I should have not insisted my intuition about a month ago. I should have not told her to give him a chance... Because 'chance' is a risk and not a wise choice. And to the guy... You've proven yourself to be a low person. Someone who doesn't deserve a second chance not even first.

Men

Monday, January 09, 2006

My 2 friends and I went to a mall just after school to have some photos printed. The guy who assisted us at the photo printing shop is cute as Juvy had told me, and he is also suplado too. Not only that, minutes later while waiting for the pics to get done another guy entered the shop and went to the front counter. He was wearing black shorts and slim-fit tee. Juvy as we all know has this little obsession with perfect bodied guy, she asked me if I can see if he has a nice abs (although I can't see his abs), then I replied 'yes'. While looking at him I noticed something not right... his shorts is falling down and I could already see his underwear as well as his skin below the hip line. And he was there standing, as if nothing is happening, as if teasing our eyes. I didn't know that Juvy was looking too and told me that he is "yummy" because he's doesn't have any stretch marks. Just recently, I've posted a photo of Bruno Santos at Friendster, next day I had Bing asking me his name... who wouldn't want to know the name of this guy?

Why honesty is the best policy

Sunday, January 08, 2006

Philippines is a land of high contrasts. Few very rich people living in a mansion at an exclusive village while many are living at slum areas that looks like a rectangular pile of thrash in long view. Uber-beautiful paradises like the El Nido in Palawan and the mountains of garbage at payatas. Politicians are either demons or angels. Its all black and white here. Despite of my nation's poverty there is still a little girl that doesn't hesitate to be honest... even with P300,000 at hand. She did not spent a single centavo from the bag that contains checks and cash that fell from a messenger's motorbike. Instead, she called the attention of the media to send a message to its owner. She had succesfully returned the money to its owner. It happened that the owner of that is money is a computer shop owner, so as a reward he gave her a complete PC set. Not only that, she also received a VIP ticket to watch Mulawin (the movie) with no other than Mulawin's star Angel Locsin! She also received a full college scholarship from STI college... and it doesn't stop there! Since she's still at grade school, she will also be recieving a full year supply of school materials and supplies courtesy of the Department of Education! She also received a plaque from the said Department. If only government employees and politicians are as honest as she is...

Books sometimes frustrates me.

Wednesday, January 04, 2006

Reading books is one of my favorite past time, actually I consider it as a hobby. Books of all sorts are informative whether it talks about other people's lives or just a fictional writing, you will surely learn from it. Afew days ago, Leslie sent me a text message borrowing a book. "Bakit baliktad magbasa ang mga Pilipino." No problem. I remembered how fast I read that book, about 5 hours give or take a couple of minutes. Then, I thought why not browse through the pages of that book again. I read the first part with headings "Don't read this" but i continued anyway, my frustrations started to rise when every word from the book hits me bullseye! The wording used are that of a regular Filipino - plain and simple. It was all real... I was amazed for the nth time that I read the book. Another frustration that came to me was last Monday when we went to National Bookstore to checkout the latest books available and its prices. I went to the fictional section. I had heard alot of good things about the author of The Alchemist, but I haven't read any of his books. I was thinking of "Veronika decides to die", but then I thought Leslie has that book and I can just borrow it from her. I browsed the shelves and found several popular titles and my favorites -- alot of them. One thing for sure, I can't buy those. And my frustrations just hit the red bar. Expensive!
